Everyone talks about being part of the 'system' but what does that actually mean? Who runs the system? Are we slaves of the system, run by large corrupt corporations that care about nothing other than the money they make from the people? If so, how do we go about bringing these earth polluting corporations down? How do we create social and political redress without bringing out the missiles and shoving guns in people's faces?
The answer is simple. We vote with our dollar.
The only way to change the system as old as the one we are currently trapped in, is to shift it within the inside. Most of us cannot escape the system by changing our geographic location alone, since land in our world right now is 'owned' by these large corporations and government bodies. So we must switch the way we think and form a collective strategy that cannot fail. The way we do this is by participating in the system, but with an agenda; we use money in a different way. As soon as we start using money as a tool to shift the system's focus, we have already won the battle - because these large corporations can only stay alive so long as we give them what they want. As soon as we stop buying products advocated by these corrupt companies, they will inevitably collapse. You may be wondering, well how are we supposed to buy food from the supermarket when everything is owned by these large companies? Answer - you buy food that encourages the sustainability of the planet. Once people start opting for food that encourages the planet's growth rather than its destruction, companies will have no choice but to supply what the community demands, or risk being shut down. Of course this plan of action is going to take a while to reap visible rewards, but we can accelerate the Green Eye Vision, simply by substituting corporately owned foods with sustainable ones instead. You don't have to change your entire shopping list overnight, just make small incremental changes that work for you.
What this looks like on a daily basis:
* buy as much wholefoods as possible and try to make things from scratch instead of buying it in a plastic bottle
* Skip the takeaway this Friday
* Buy fresh juice instead of coke
* Plant edible plants in your home (if you don't have fertile land then write to your local council to get fruit trees planted in your area)
These sorts of actions will not only support the wellbeing of the planet, but the wellbeing of YOU. It may take a while for this message to catch on, but that's okay. As long as we are consistent and urge others to make the same changes, we WILL make a significant difference. Pretty soon we will be looking at a very different world. We just need to encourage everyone to TAKE ACTION TODAY.
